IT SEEMED TO ME

MISAPĂRUT starts from the media scandal related to the Spiritual Integration Movement in Absolut and its relationship with the judiciary in Romania.

From the extremely complex story surrounding MISA, the creators of MISAPĂRUT chose to talk mainly about the most personal aspects, about how the scandal affected the people who practice yoga at the MISA school, especially a young woman who was hospitalized with force in psychiatry because of its association with the yogic group.

CAFÉ PIRANDELLO

"Pirandello's Cafe" starts from the dramatic script created by Anca Măniuțiu, substructured on two plays by the playwright Luigi Pirandello: Omul with the flower in his mouth and mountain giants, in the intertext of which disparate lines from Six characters in search of an author and Tonight they're improvising.

BEAR

For me, "The Bear" is not only "a farce", as Chekhov himself called it.

In fact, this name must also be understood in the sense in which Chekhov wrote "comedy" under the title of one of his great plays, "The Seagull".

The subtle ironies of a genius.

THE CHOCOLATE SOLDIER (or GUNS AND THE MAN)

The play Arms and the Man was written by Bernard Shaw when he was 38 years old and was first performed in 1894 in London. Success was not long in coming even from the premiere, and the opinion of Shaw as one of the most intelligent dramatists in London was unanimous. Four years later it will be published in the collection called Pleasant Pieces. Although it was no longer performed in Romania, it remained one of the most popular and most frequently staged comedies in the world.

PLAY STRINDBERG

"Play Strindberg" by Friedrich Durrenmatt turns August Strindberg's drama "Dance of Death" into a black comedy, in comic-absurd key, imagining marriage as a 12-round boxing match, a fight without rules and without winners, only losers… It is the story of a "failed" actress - Alice and Edgar - a "failed" captain, stranded on an island as a prison warden, who live out the story of a "failed" marriage in which they are sentenced to 25 years to live and fight fiercely.

EVERYTHING IS RELATIVE

Greg and Ginny are young, in love and about to get married. But Ginny is hiding some details about her life from Greg, which could blow up the peace of the future couple. This is also the moment when Philip and Sheila enter the story, an older couple, with unclear - still - and, precisely because of that, funny connections with the young characters. Entanglements of situation, language and intention are sprinkled throughout the play, heightening the tension and delight of the viewer. And at the end, some questions remain in our minds: is love sincere, how much are we willing to lie in a couple, how much is truth and how much is delusion in a love?

AGAMEMNON

Agamemnon takes a critical x-ray of contemporary man and has the intensity of a Formula 1 race. The three heroes run chaotically through the supermarket districts, where they struggle not to lose control of their own lives.
Homo consumens characters (psychoanalytically anchored in the oral stage) forget to be and focus on having.

BLUE. YELLOW. RED

BLUE. YELLOW. RED

Putting aside the barrier of inhibition in front of what the oppressive system in Romania meant before '89, we descend into a painful poetic density about the beauties of the clichéd homeland, about the sarcastic arc of the fence of freedoms, of words spoken in whispers.

ANNIVERSARY

ANNIVERSARY is a contemporary Dutch text, the playwright - Jeroen Van Den Berg - being a "basic" director, directing teacher and successful playwright. The story is extremely tough, very alive, very current. The text "speaks" in our language, today's language.... it's a powerful life story and I think many viewers will find themselves - either in one of the five characters, or in acquaintances, friends who are going through or have gone through situations like those in the show.
