EPISODE MACBETH concludes the IN THE HEART OF NIGHT trilogy, after EPISODE HAMLET and EPISODE LEAR.
Only the essential lines, the key lines, have been preserved from the Shakespearean text. The missing text is filled in with physical actions that the play implies or allows to be imagined. The connections between some sequences, but also the analysis of some important elements for this project belong to George Banu and Monique Borie.
We follow two people, Mr. and Mrs. Macbeth, set off on the path of no return to self-destruction. The projections of these souls tormented by guilty aspirations take fabulous forms. Thus, witches are seen as the vehicles of older hidden aspirations, the substitute for obsessively recurring desires.
We do theater in the dead of night for fear of the Night itself. And, at the same time, from the desire to forget the wanderings of the day. We play to save ourselves! By night, by day. Always and forever at the crossroads.
