The eccentric family, which in the early 1990s won wide audiences with the film version of the same name, inspired Marshall Brickman, Rick Elice and Andrew Lippa to create an original musical adaptation that revisits the Addams universe from a surprising perspective, pitting Gomez and on Morticia with what could be called any parent's "nightmare": children grow up (too fast). Having reached the age of adolescence, Wednesday, their only daughter, falls in love with Lucas Beineke, a nice boy from a respectably "normal" family, and decides to entrust the secret to her father, who is not only forced to accept the cruel reality, but and to do something he has never done before: to hide the truth from his beloved wife. Everything will take an unexpected turn one night when the "too normal" Beinekes end up having dinner at the house of the "strange" Addams - a nocturnal feast that will confront the two families with the limits of (a)normality and resistance to change.
