FITO 2017 | DAY 3
The Oradea International Theater Festival continues with even more surprises! Today, September 23, a day full of extraordinary events awaits us, where we will be able to enjoy four theater performances and a book launch.
The festival day begins with an event dedicated to theater and books. Mrs. Florica Ichim, theater critic and editor-in-chief at "Teatrul azi" magazine, launches the book "Ciulei at home and in the world", a tribute to an overwhelming personality who, through his work, discreetly but profoundly enriched the theatrical culture of the world. The launch will take place at the R&R bookstore on Republicii Street, from 4:00 p.m.
From 17:00, at the Bihor National Tourist Information and Promotion Center, we are waiting for you at the show "open", produced by the Reciprocă Association in partnership with the Brush Factory Federation and the GroundFloor Group Association and directed by Leta Popescu. The show tackles the topic of sexuality, putting modesty in parentheses and questioning to what extent society and family install patterns in each of us that we can hardly break away from. Not recommended for people under 16!
From 18:30, at the House of Culture of the Unions, the Classical Theater "Ioan Slavici" Arad invites you to the show "Our city", adapted from Thornton Wilder's play and directed by Cristian Ban, which, starting from interviews, books and photos from the archives of the History Museum, mirrors scenes, characters and fascinating stories of the city of Arad.
From 19:00, at the Great Theater Hall, "The Chocolate Soldier", by George Bernard Shaw, directed by Andrei Șerban, staged at the Odeon Theater in Bucharest invites us to heal ourselves through laughter from the illusions of false patriotism and the absurdity of our intentions and actions.
The evening will end with the performance proposed by the Piatra Neamţ Youth Theater: "An Oak Tree", by Tim Crouch, directed by Bobi Pricop, from 21:30 at Sala Arcadia. The beloved actor from Oradea, Richard Balint, who accepted the challenge of being at the first meeting with the text during the performance, in front of the audience, will take the stage, together with the actor of the theater from Piatra Neamţ.
Also, don't forget to pass by the foyer to the left of the main entrance to the theater before the performances in the Great Hall, where the "Reader's Corner" is located, set up with a lot of bookish spirit by R&R bookstores and coffeehouses.
Tickets went on sale at the Theater Ticket Agency from Tuesday to Friday between 10:00 and 19:00, and on weekends between 10:00 and 13:00.
