BALKAN UNION & VANDERCRIS CONCERT
FRIDAY, JUNE 7, 9:00 p.m
UNION SQUARE (free access)
Balkan Union is a truly unique musical experience, a journey through the Balkans that combines soul, passion and tradition, where a variety of landscapes and cultures meet through music and create a common language based on the similarities between people.
The group Balkan Union (consisting of Branka Básits, Csaba Tóth Bagi, Dávid Eredics, Ákos Kertész and László Máthé) is made up of exceptional artists who share the same passion, combining tradition with contemporary elements in the 21st century, while maintaining originality.
Their creation avoids frustrating the older traditional music audience while still managing to appeal to a new audience. Balkan Union was founded by Csaba Tóth Bagi, guitarist and singer, known for his strong voice and technical skills on the guitar. His Balkan-influenced blues and jazz style comes from his Hungarian musical education and years spent touring internationally with renowned guitarist Al Di Meola12.
With a diverse line-up and innovative approach, Balkan Union continues to delight audiences with their fascinating sounds and celebrate the cultural richness of the Balkans.
_________
"In VanDerCris we gathered the impossible combination of musicians.
A happy, young, fair-play Bassist, unexpectedly mature in his clear thinking and respect for the drummer - Danut Blaga
A Keboarder with a bright mind and the perfect gene, with harmonic sense and triplet-feel groove - Marcelle Poaty Souami
A rock and pop drummer with the skills of a music producer and talent included in the pocket - Florin Cvasa
A visitor from distant goldilocks planets looking for his way back to infinity through the moves of a master candidate - Lucian Nagy - wind instruments
A guitarist whose name is twisted and anagrammed - VanDerCris (Horea CrisoVan). Responsible for the rehearsal room, about 17 editions of Garana on the big stage and plays. Chosen.
VanDerCris – only compositions without hits. Maybe just peppered with little quotes."
