Director Andrei Măjeri: "In November 2019, I discovered, in a bookstore in Valencia, the HEROINES of the poet Ovidius. A collection of love letters from mythological female figures to their male "heroes". Two and a half years later, at the "Mihai Eminescu" Botoșani Theater, I meet the perfect group of actresses to stage, for the first time in my career, the epistolary genre. But above all, to talk about the wounds of unfair loves.

In a crew of 8+1, shoulder to shoulder, side by side, they tell their love stories, questioning them along the way from a critical perspective. The show Heroine proposes the interruption of a nefarious course of dominant history and internalized patriarchy. The nine heroines cast the net of sisterhood over as many other heroines as possible.

We can question cultural memory only by putting it in dialogue with societal changes. In our boat we interrogate one woman's ability to live the stake of another. We talk about regeneration, dignity, selective refusal, empathy, body politics, social destiny and the extent to which we define ourselves by the person we love. Where? Out at sea, in a safe space, where heroines can say: I see you, my sister!"
